Blood thirsty wolves on the back of your sweater? Yes please!

This (New!) Mary Maxim wolf sweater was knit using a vintage Mary Maxim knitting pattern from the 1960's. This was a hard to find knitting pattern that I had to search high and low for. The two blood thirsty wolves with their tongue's hanging out is really super kitsch - maybe that's why I love it so!

This AMAZING handmade sweater was knit to fit size 42 inch chest. (all sizes are based on chest size.)

All other sizes will be made to order. Please allow 6-8 weeks for your custom made to order sweater to ship.

Please note that this is a NEW sweater, NOT a vintage sweater. That makes it the ideal gift for yourself or someone else.

The Mary Maxim company made their mark on the world of knitting and fashion when they began producing a line of knitting patterns for home knitters based (loosely) on Cowichan sweaters from Vancouver Island Canada. There are actually a lot of differences between Cowichan sweaters and Mary Maxim designs but they are often confused. The overall shape of the sweaters - cardigan styles, often with raglan sleeves and shawl collars is very similar to the Cowichan designs - and some of the Mary Maxim sweaters do feature motifs that are based on the same motifs found in Cowichan sweaters. However, more often than not if you compare Mary Maxim sweaters to Cowichan sweaters you will find that they are really nothing alike. The Mary Maxim company did design beautiful sweaters though! What is fun about these timeless designs is their ULTRA kitschy-ness!
