Vintage Hazel Atlas mugs, set of three. Small glass mugs, white glass painted maroon with detailed white Western American Indian and buffalo illustrations.
These are a rare Hazel Atlas find, and most likely part of a larger set.
The embossed "A" inside of the "H" Hazel Atlas logo is present on the colored bottom of each.
Two are identical. They have a white, illustrated scene depicting two "Indian" figurines about to engage in battle over a fire, a desert scene in the background, tee pees to the sides and another figurine in the foreground beating a drum. Very cliche and kitschy, typical of the period.
The other has the same colorations, but the motif differs in that the "Indian" figurine, Mohawk and all, is riding a horse, bow and arrow in hand, towards a buffalo. The is a trail of tiny buffalo figurines in the distance.
Size:
3" or 7.6 cm tall
3.75" or 9.5 cm diameter, including handle
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition, with a bit of tiny flecks of wear on the burgundy surfaces, mostly near the rims, and somewhat exclusively on the matching pair, not the other. It is very minimal wear considering the age and delicate nature of the painted glass. These are a definite hand wash only item! The handles are in wonderful condition.
