This is a very old cigarette box/dispenser. It has a fabulous art deco design to it. I believe you (at one time) put the three soft packs of cigarettes directly in the partitioned box. As you lift the lid, hinged arms raise the divided inner box for easy removal. The box is designed to look like three books with bookends and the sections are labeled Lucky Strike, Camel, and Chesterfield. As you can see in the photos, the outside is faded and shows a lot of wear. The front of the section labeled Chesterfield has some peeling of wood veneer. The inside is gorgeous with inlaid wood and a picture of a deer done in the wood. The hinges work smoothly and flawlessly and the compartments are clean with no marks or odors. The outer measurements are 5" x 4 1/4" x 3 5/8". A wonderful old piece of tobacco history.
