Featured here is an unusual vintage 10K gold stick pin with a glass eye.
At first glance, the eye appears as a sunflower but it is actually a hazel iris and black pupil. Protecting the eye is a gold ring, held firmly in place with a round ball screw. Measuring 1-3/4 of an inch long, the pin is in excellent vintage condition. The gold-rimmed glass eye itself is 1/2 of an inch in diameter.
A rare subject matter for a stick pin, this piece was perhaps made for an optician in the early 20th century. While not marked, the pin tests as 10 karat gold.
